Podcast ad spending is projected to expand 25% to $2.78 billion this year in the U.S., and will rise to nearly $4 billion by 2025, according to the U.S. Podcast Advertising Revenue Study released this morning by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC.

The authors of the report said the historical ad spending estimates are based on self-reported data from ad-supported podcast publishers, but they did not explain how the projections were factored.

Interestingly, the strong projected growth comes following a deceleration that occurred in podcast ad spending growth during the fourth quarter of 2022, the last quarter based on compiled data in the report.
